World Taste & Smell Association's Stephanie Feuer to Speak at Barcelona Perfumery Congress 2025
New York, NY — May 12, 2025 — The World Taste & Smell Association (WTSA) is pleased to announce that Stephanie Feuer, Co-Founder and Executive Director, will be a featured speaker at the 6th edition of the Barcelona Perfumery Congress (BPC). The event is scheduled for June 18-19, 2025, at La Farga Exhibition Center in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Spain.
The BPC is recognized as Europe's largest perfumery innovation congress, bringing together over 100 exhibitors from 16 countries and more than 2,000 industry professionals. The congress serves as a global forum where fragrance industry experts converge to discuss topics ranging from olfactory science to cutting-edge innovations in perfumery.
Stephanie Feuer, a leading advocate for the art and science of taste and smell, co-founded the WTSA with the mission to foster a vibrant, interconnected global community dedicated to these senses. Her participation underscores the congress's commitment to integrating diverse perspectives within the fragrance industry.
Attendees can look forward to engaging with Feuer during her presentation scheduled for June 19, titled, “Biology and Biography: How Smell Dysfunction and Genetics Contribute to Olfactory Variability.” The session is set to examine the surprisingly extensive range of health conditions—139 according to recent research—that affect smell perception, along with their varying characteristics and impacts. Feuer will also explore how genetic variation directly influences how we perceive specific notes, and unpack the research that identifies 15 gene variants, including those that make woody notes mute to some noses, while others can detect violet at microscopic levels.
The BPC 2025 promises a comprehensive program featuring educational content, sensorial workshops, and networking opportunities, solidifying its position as a pivotal event in the perfumery calendar.
